Language -
Dictator of the Universe

Dictator of the Universe
by Thomas N
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John1:1, The Bible)
I challenge you to think within and without language.
What is language? Not a matter as you cannot feel or touch it. It can be airborne and transported directly from mind to mind over space in telepathy. Not a feeling as it is up to the person. Not a virus as you cannot see it even with a super microscope. There is one thing certain. Language is symbiotic with humans. Language cannot live without or outside a human being and the latter cannot develop without the former.
What do you think in? How do you form your theories, speech, figure out solutions to problems and meditate on abstract thoughts? What mode of transport do you use to put across your ideas, opinions and emotions? You cannot do without language, the word. Meditating people can eliminate thoughts from their minds for some time, but they are able to do it after they have learned about it; they have learned to use language. Language has possessed them as with the rest of human community.
The most important invention might have been language. What would have happened without ‘the Word’? The universe would have been without. However, it has been more complicated than that. The word is to the universe what the egg is to the chicken. Without language, I am not. Without language, the universe is no more to me. Is language inborn?
Troubles all over the world started when the second person cloned from the first person said I loved you to the first person; the experiment could not have repeated; then incest, Judas Iscariot, took action and helped the human species prevail. It still does now against the involved’s and societal outcries. Some people say we thank sins, including Adam and Eve and especially Judas Iscariot, for our existence. Indeed. And all the time we have been pursuing happiness.
What Darwin’s theory of evolution is to science is what the word is to the human development and to intelligence itself.
Language would not have been invented or developed without interaction. It might have begun with the word ‘Ah’ lingering over the orgasm achieved by either first person in their first intimate interaction, intercourse. There had to be better ways to express their happiness than just ‘Ahhhhhhhhhhhh’. The orgasm ignited all the ensuing chemical processes in the brains and worked their ways out into language. They then might have needed more and more words during the labor and hard work of bringing into life and bringing up their second pleasures, the offspring. The second experiment worked. It has been continuing to date.
The first source of happiness was monotheistic, the husband or the wife. And God who bestowed the provisions. But then Satan or the devil had been there biding its time. It took eons for the word to materialize into living form and develop, but the core has been there all the time. Man is dust and to dust thou shall return. Monotheism still prevails to date in many different worlds. Dictatorship or totalitarianism in the form of patriotism or ideologies is here to stay as long as the end of the world, death, and monotheism are still looming around. The longest living person was Adam, 930 years or 1000 old. He died eventually, taking with him the secret of immortality, if this means 1000 years. Where is Adam now and all the saints and villains? Until people can find the answer, monotheism is.
The word started to rule the universe, and, for better or for worse, it has been leading man to today’s advancement where one can talk to the whole world just with a click of a mouse inasmuch as the word was uttered millennia ago in the Eden; under the Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya, India; on the Mount of Sinai where Moses received the Ten Commandments from God; and on the Mount of Golgotha or The Mount of the Skull, the Site of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The word has always spread far and wide despite itself.
The word which originated from happiness learned survival and sustainability and ego and selfishness and greediness and cruelty. The word died the date it was born because humanity is mortal. Happiness was forever and fleeting and temporary. The universe has ever been always on the brink of annihilation. The word could be uttered and taken back. It was on the tip of the tongue.
The world has seen the Deluge, and only Noah’s family survived. But how did they continue the humanity? The second original sin, incest, might have taken place and animals and humans started a very sinful intimate relationship with animals, bestiality, we have still seen these days, published boldly in online video clips governments have reluctantly prohibited. The world has seen its human history in so many perspectives that now they can say there is nothing new under the sun. Again what intercourse is to the continuity of humanity is what orgasm is to the entertainment of the species and to its doomsday. That has led to the ill effects of rapes and contraception and hatred and retribution.
Language, either verbal or numerical, since formed, has wriggled to express itself to the world, asserting itself and destroying any obstacles in the way. The world is after all a monotheistic one because there is only one sovereign, language. However, to survive it has resorted to different forms and dialects and varied itself cloned languages. Then incidentally, it has accepted polytheism. There were other Gods contradicting themselves so that language could survive. Nevertheless, language also realized its hosts were of different levels of perception and cognition to make use of it. As it allowed the hosts to use it for their benefits, it also denied the possessed the uniqueness of possession. It cloned itself. Religions materialized so that the word could have a better place to rule. The world is without without language. And there must have been a hierarchy as there were so many levels of understanding. Buddhism was so surrealistic and complicated few people got enlightened. Christianity, Hinduism, Chinese folk religions and Islam, … all were to serve the word. The word would choose the mightiest to help it prevail. It sought its armies everywhere. And the strongest turned out to be the simplest. English has and will become the language of the universe.
There have been times when, to rule, tyrants burnt books hoping to dictate over ignorance, fighting against their own owner, the word, unconsciously, but language survived and continued its subjugation. What is its conquest? Humanity, its host. The possession has been so strong humans could not have done without it, unawares.
The most talented people have turned out to be the most sensitive and easiest targets for the word’s invasion. Stubborn thick minds have had no place for language to develop and achieve cognitive thinking leading to great discoveries or innovations so that the word or language could have continued its journey.
The whole world has been invaded by the word since the first human uttered the first word. There was no turning back then. Language would forever go on living except in the deaf and dumb’s minds when they were completely separated from normal people, or normal people growing up in isolation having no or deprived of interaction whatsoever to other humans. Look at Genie, the feral child in California. Language dies in her. That has been the worst enemy of the word. But the word has its own way to reach out to other hosts of it. Sign language developed and the deaf and dumb have been able to be useful to the word. As long as there is another host to interact, language feels ok.
Language needs human interactions to develop, but it needs quietude to be possessed, controlled and manipulated for better government. Great minds had gone into silence to master the word. Moses, Elijah, Jesus Christ, Buddha, and all other leaders meditated long before they walked out to the world preaching the word of enlightenment and salvation. Language never sits still; it works; it entices; it creates. Great men got hooked to its thoughts and followed its path. But language never got itself to a doomsday. It jumped from man to man to rescue itself from the control of its own cruelty. Its experiments stalled when it saw the doomsday of itself looming.
